Bose has launched its cutting-edge soundbar, melding compact design with powerful performance, while integrating an innovative AI-driven Dialogue Mode to ensure crystal-clear dialogues even during intense action scenes.
Introducing the Smart Ultra Soundbar, the newest crown jewel in Bose’s soundbar lineup. This replaces its predecessor, the Smart Soundbar 900. While it’s a standalone bar without external rears or a subwoofer, enthusiasts have the option to augment it with wireless bass and rear speaker modules. Additionally, it seamlessly integrates with Bose’s multi-room speaker systems.
Key to its performance is Bose’s distinctive PhaseGuide technology. This advanced audio processing creates a multi-dimensional sound experience, making you feel sounds emanating from above (perfect for Dolby Atmos content) or from the sides. The precision of this technology ensures audio elements are positioned with pinpoint accuracy across the front soundstage, rendering traditional soundbar ‘channel counts’ obsolete.
While the PhaseGuide shines with Dolby Atmos given its object-oriented sound placement, Bose highlights its prowess with horizontal spatial effects in non-Atmos mixes too. To elevate non-Atmos sources, Bose’s proprietary TrueSpace technology remaps the audio to introduce a captivating virtual height effect.
The AI Dialogue Mode is another standout feature. Harnessing machine learning from millions of content samples, it dynamically adjusts the soundbar’s tonal balance, ensuring dialogues remain sharp and discernible. This sophisticated balance particularly shines in Dolby Atmos mixes, harmonizing surround sound with dialogue channels.
But if you’re concerned about its complexity, rest easy. The Smart Ultra Soundbar integrates Bose’s ADAPTiQ technology to auto-optimize audio based on your room’s acoustics and furniture. It even adapts to changes in your room setup.
Connectivity-wise, it boasts an HDMI port with eARC, Wi-Fi for Spotify Connect and Airplay 2, and Bluetooth for convenient streaming. Plus, with the Bose Music App’s SimpleSync feature, you can pair specific Bose headphones to the soundbar, complete with individual volume controls.
Voice control enthusiasts will appreciate its built-in Amazon Alexa support and compatibility with external Google Assistant devices.
Housing all these innovations is an exquisitely designed bar, measuring 41 inches in length, 2.3 inches in height, and slightly over four inches in depth. It flaunts a sleek oval design, a metal grille, and a durable tempered glass top.
Available now in the US and coming to the UK on October 10, the Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar offers choices in black or arctic white finishes.
